Three Areas to Increase Mindfulness in 2020

Being more mindful can really help you make positive changes, feel happier, and live your best life!

It doesn’t need to be complicated either. Being mindful simply means you’re living with more intent. From a non-judgemental state, you’re being more aware of what’s going on around you or thoughts happening inside you. The coolest thing about being more mindful is it really puts YOU in control of your experience and attitude.

Here are three simple areas to increase mindfulness going into a new year and a new decade!

1. Nutrition

What you chose to eat has a huge impact on your health and how you feel. Choose to be more mindful of your nutrition this year.

Some questions you could ask yourself are, what do your current nutrition habits look like? What areas do you want to improve? Be honest with yourself (and kind) when answering these questions.

Choose foods that nourish and step away from negative diet culture. There’s no one size fits all when it comes to healthy eating so figure out what works best for you and your goals. Maybe start by keeping a food journal to see areas where you could improve or what foods make you feel your best!

2. Exercise

Just like nutrition, there is no one right way to exercise. Choose activities and movements that bring joy and help you reach your goals. You don’t have to do what’s popular or “effective” if you don’t enjoy it or if it doesn’t align with your goals.

Luckily, Kiava Clothing has the BEST activewear to keep you comfortable, supported, and looking fine no matter the exercise you choose! Some of my favorites are the marble leggings (both colors!), runner’s bra, and polar fleece jacket. Whether you are into yoga, running, lifting, or anything in-between, Kiava has something for everyone!

3. Emotions

Your feelings are totally valid! It’s okay to have good days, mediocre days, and bad days. You’re also allowed to FEEL the emotions you are experiencing. Instead of trying to push them away, embrace them.

Allowing yourself to feel and process emotions can bring more clarity and a gateway to positive change. If it helps, try daily journaling or talking with a therapist.

Wrapping It Up

Increasing mindfulness, even in small areas of your life, can be so helpful in reaching your goals, improving mental health, and making positive changes.

Remember, mindfulness should be done with understanding and self-love. We are all learning, growing, and doing our best so be kind to yourself!
